Whatcha whatcha whatcha love

Ok this is lovingly brainless. There are some things in my home that I love. For beauty, for effectiveness, for streamlining...etc

The 96 cent square handled white scrubber from Walmart that actually works. I LOVE this little tool.

The 1st Norah Jones c.d. It is perfection.

MK - Microderm Abrasion - bye bye ugly skin

Dora & Diego - thank you, God!

Shampoo bottles with pumps.

Fresh flowers, anywhere, everywhere.

Our big mirror. Every room it's in looks warmer and less ghetto.

Our computer/bookcase that Levi and I rescued and transformed. Gosh it feels good to have pieces like this.

Do you have any items that delight your soul?

My brand new (bought today) patio table, big enough for six to eat comfortably, decorated with fleur de lis and a tile tabletop.

My potted annuals perched in our small potting shed... they make our backyard so gorgeous.

My dog, Nicodemus, who's a very protective and loving pal. Also, my cat Coconut, who's pretty much useless but likes to sit on my lap and purr, which is pretty awesome.

My 20" widescreen flat panel monitor.

Windows Vista (shut up Levi).

Photoshop.

Dan's book collection, which became my book collection when we married, which contains a very wide range of books, from The Summa Theologica to The Cthulhu Mythos to the Satanic Bible.

I'm gonna go with Beth on the fresh flowers thing... hint hint, Dan.

80's music.

I love my mirror too, makes my tiny tiny living spaces look bigger! But as for what i like for ME, good coffee (love starbuck's organic medium from the grocery store), good literature (from chronicles of narnia and harry potter to anything shakespeare), and candles. Definitely books and candles.

Our vest-pocket back yard and bi-level deck. Grillin' tannin', gardnin' and hangin' wit da homecheese. An awesome retreat.

The wee library upstairs that is actually becoming the center for readin' & writin'. ('Cept for what gets written here.)

Guitars in the basement. And the room they live in. And the sounds they let me make.

Ancient kitty Bela. 15 or so and goin' strong. 'Cept he limps. And sneezes... alot. And that one satanic eyelid that is almost vertical. And who must go out at 4:30 am and come back in the instant I've sat down with the paper. Still, a real purr-monkey.

Yeah, a mirror. It's frame dictated the pallette of all subsequently purchased major furniture items, as in dining table/chairs, hutch, master bed and bureau. Only took 45 years to get some furniture pieces that resembled others in the house.

The exercise stuff. It's freakin' savin' my life!

i'm so impressed someone far more ambitious than i put exercise stuff! i'd so much rather be lazy with my books n' candles than be good and exercise :)

I remember lazy times! I was, dare I say it(?) so much younger then. Still there are books and candles. They just come after the sweating and the wheezing. Once you start living more with your mortality, you'll either exercize, or eat. A lot.

LMAO! I love my toilet too! And, I love your mirror Bethany...

As for stuff of mine that I LOVE...

-My back yard! I love the flowers and stuff, but I love the fact that we bought a house with a great play area for the kids. Now that it's nice weather I can kick em' out of the house and enjoy the quiet. :-)

-I love my green walls in my LR. Even though they are making my decorating difficult, I just love this color.

-My TV. I'm super lazy and love vegging out.

-My laptop. It's my other world.

-Via Cappuccino. A local coffee house.

Tis true, there was a jungle accident in the early days of our backyard. Whilst hacking away at the overgrowth in our young backyard, my wee, young, trusting Bela remained hidden in the deep weeds until I lambasted him accross the nose with a machete. Yes, I know. I was totally freaking out from the second I heard the "thok!" sound. After phone calls to the vet and serious pleading for him to be all right, (I don't think he had quite mastered English yet} he arose from the floor to face his next of nine lives. But that was the story of how he got the scar on his nose and of why he snores like a freight train to this day.
His "Devil Eye" came from an altercation with either a car, a coon or a possum. Whichever way it was sourced, he came home one day being able to see out of one eye even when "closed." Nice vet bill, that one. Forever after, his left eye is more vertical than horizontal.
There are about three other "life stories" for this king of the urban jungle, so we figure he may have as many as four lives left. There was
"The Limp," "The Lost Months" and a minimum of one that I can't remember.

Matthew - Don't trash that groovy dresser/armoire/tv hider cabinet that you've painted a million times. I want that trash. Or are you hiding it in the folks basement until you get back?
