My boyfriend

Sorry about the shortie posts, my Safari keeps quitting, so I'd resigned myself to snippets.

Only one supa' sta' can have me retype these same words several times. Barack. He was on some late night show being himself. I love that he appears to actually think before he speaks. Seems huge compared to the "axis of evil" commentaries.

Something begs a question though. Would you rather vote for a politician that rep you or one that rep themself?

I like knowing what I'm getting. I know he's a politician and all, but he seems to be more straightforward and clear than most on his positions on things. I'm sure there is some level of play involved, but why can't so many of them give a straight answer to anything?! I'd rather disagree with some things but know what I'm getting rather than wonder what the heck somebody stands for!

While you're dropping trou to show your support, I'll just be getting my ink on the forehead. People get arrested for showing off their butts. And, in some cases, I agree with that policy.

I don't even like Barack a LITTLE bit...

Question for all you Barack lovers, have you read either of his two books? Just wondering if your love is grounded and well-read in knowing who he is. I am currently reading his "The Audacity of Hope"....and so far I think I like what I am reading.

Laura, what is the title of the other one? I'm heading to the library.

Rachel, I'm with you.

Can we ever know what we're getting before we get it? Looking back to the beginning of my political awareness ("I LIKE IKE" buttons) I'd say we've had more than a few surprises...

I'll take that one, Sis. Yes. I think most of us knew what we were getting during the last two "presidential elections." And I think you know, as well, why I put that term in quotes.

Perhaps whoever we elect could hire Miss Teen South Carolina as a speech writer! :)
(I promise no tangents on feeling a bit justified in my opinions about beauty pageants.)

It certainly may not be the only thing (maybe not even the most important), but I have to admit that I really like when people who represent and lead our country do, in fact, as Beth mentioned "think before they speak."

Someone mentioned to me that the NFL Draft is the same as the Miss America Pageant - except that the MAP expects their girls to be able to communicate clearly and walk in heels.

beth- you probably have already figured this out, but his first book was "Dreams from my Father", I don't have that one, not sure if it is good......but his 2nd one is good!

I like knowing what I get which is seemingly impossible in politics. I also want to vote for the person who represents me because that is how the system is supposed to work. However, being what it is I usually vote for the person who seems to be lying less. I hate the hopeless feeling I get trying to decide between two parties I don't really care for.

That's why I write in the only candidate I feel could truly lead this country in a respectable way...

POPEYE THE SAILOR MAN!

TOOT TOOT!
