OK, the time has come to announce what I deem the most incredibly fabulous childrens television show available today. DO not hold back - you MUST avail yourself and the selves under age 5 to the most entrancing of boob-tubage.
Max and Ruby. On Noggin. Also available on the web for activities.
Charming, clean, no carnage or crass humor. I love love love that BOTH my 2 and 5 yr olds are equally engaged and laugh OUT LOUD.
Whew, I've been saving that for awhile. ;)

While watching your children...I have also learned of the joys of Max and Ruby...it seemed to be the only thing that kept both kids engaged and entertained!!! Hip Hip Hoorah!!! for Max and Ruby!
Clearly you have not seen Noddy, Jay Jay the Jet Plane, Oswald, Sagwa, or Jakers.
M&R is a favorite with my monsters as well.
That was one of Matt's favorites, but now we are up to our eyeballs in Pokemon and Avatar. Nice.

Avatar is actually the favorite show in the house. We are all very big fans. Eagerly awaiting the third season, saddened by the loss of Mako, the actor who voiced Uncle Iro.
If you have never watched it, go to blockbuster and rent seasons one and two. I've yet to meet anyone who doesn't like the show.

Avatar...McD's had the toys, what IS it?
ok i'll be the partypooper and say i don't like avatar, too much eastern/ninja/magic/wierd for me. we're not too conservative about media stuff in this house; we all like star wars and harry potter and stuff. mommy even reads the occasional stephen king book (gasp). avatar doesn't sit with me well though, especially for the little munchkins...

Jenny - you have GIRLS. Afton realized in "Barbie the Nutcracker" that in princess world when you touch it with pink paint, it is perfection. She actually screamed in delight, "PIIINNNKKK!"
Also, Levi just had his first experience with Aftons asking about monsters in the closet. Wasn't really afraid, more matter-of fact.

Wow, Jenny. THat's surprising. My mother, who wouldn't let us watch Smurfs, Scooby-Doo, or even the Simpsons, loves Avatar. She's against anything remotely magical.
DR- Our mom's must have graduated from TV school together. Here's two more tests: Length of TV watching time and Dukes of Hazzard. Report back!
Dukes? I wasn't even allowed to own the matchbox car. They were outlaws, are you kidding? Sure, they were "never meanin' no harm," but the fact was they had "been in trouble with the law since the day they were born." I wanted a Dukes lunchbox so bad, but mom put a kaibosh on that and my parachute pants in the same fell swoop.
As for length of tv watching time, I don't remember my mom ever setting limits other than "you're watching too much tv, get outside and play for awhile." Usually a Saturday morning lecture, as it were.
Dr. Seattle- it was a kindness really. Now you can look back and say "Are you kidding? Parachute pants? Sick!! I'll bet you had a Dukes of Hazzard lunchbox too, freakshow."
I was just pissed when nylon lunch"bag"s were intro'd. No cool Barbie image, floppy sandwich squishing sides and warm food. Retards. Or "re-re's" for those in the know...
